We’ve started the new decade with high energy in the real estate market, as this January was the busiest I’ve seen in recent years.
Some sellers have already put their homes on the market to capitalize on the high demand, while many more are prepping for the spring market. Now is the time to sell, and today I’m sharing tips to help you prepare for the process.
First, take a look at your exterior and landscaping. San Diego’s winter months are a lot wetter, making it a great time to refresh your landscaping, trim back old plants, and maybe plant some new things.
Next, check your curb appeal. Is it truly inviting? Paint the front door and perhaps replace its hardware. Add a new doormat, too, for an extra pop!
Start purging your storage spaces. Eliminating clutter is always the most time-consuming aspect of market preparation. Donate your old clothes, shoes, and linens—whatever you have to do to create extra room in your closet/storage spaces.
These are just a few easy starting points for soon-to-be sellers. If you need more ideas on how to prepare your home for sale, give us a call or send an email. We’re happy to help you.
